I've seen demons too on mushrooms but that didn't make me think they actually exist. I think most of that stuff is just something in the brain/mind similar to dreams which drugs can bring out even more. Or is it just a way of tapping into other realms like shamans believe? Like we can't see things like radio waves but they exist on another plane anyway.
Someone should do a controlled study on people who think they see ghosts and try it with and without psychedelics to study the differences and effects.

ghosts don't have faces

All of the "evidence" we have for the existence of ghosts is anecdotal or otherwise insufficient. Anecdotal evidence is highly subject to error as memory does not record events like a camera. We selectively remember and recall events based upon our preconceived notions and perceptions of the world. Certain cultures see certain kinds of apparitions for example. You are more likely to believe in ghosts that already accept their existence.

Are we to believe in fairies and leprechauns and as well? The comparison is nontrivial as belief in fairies was much more common back in the 1800's. Fewer believe in them today. Apparently ghost siting tend to increase in areas of high electromagnetic activity so perhaps normal perception is being affected by natural occurrences. Notice how ghost sightings tend to increase at night or low-light conditions when it's very easy to mistake a natural objects for novel, paranormal stimuli.
