The original live Dubstep band leaves nothing to question with their Soul-Funk Summer party rocker, ‘Future Sport.’ This radio length single utilizes deft horn work to lift your spirits to their feet in a true Roots-Funk fashion. The underlying groove - reminiscent of a love child between P-Funk & Galactic - drives the energy as the drop melts away expectations of how live music is capable of sounding. Most definitely a prime time thumper, the title track represents pure, unadulterated Jazzsteppa at their finest.
‘Sicka Than Your Average’ tastefully blends Grime, Trap, and Hard Dubstep influences around the core of live musicianship this band has become known for. With an anthemic hook from the horn section, this intense Jazzsteppa riddim sets a heavy foundation for lyrical wordsmith Skamma, who in turn vocally underscores the mind expanding performances and real playability of this serious club thumper.
B side remix ‘Sicka Than Your Average (Dubsworth & Tapa Remix)’ grounds this release by taking a deeper and more dubbed out approach to the original material. A true Dubs Alive production, the label owners themselves have found the balance of heavy and deep – grimey mid bass and floor shaking sub. This 4 on the floor Steppas beat brings a live Afro-Roots experience that is not to be missed on the dance floor.
