Since you are making bass music, you gotta have a subwoofer to eq the lower end don't you, I know headphones can work but a subwoofer just gives that low end rattle feeling..
If you do use a subwoofer, which one ? I have been looking at the 10" JBL lsr 2310 . It appears to have good ratings.

i use LG from my 5.1system. So far i'm pleased with it. i tend not to add so much eq on drums and sub as i did with headphones.

generally we dont use a sub, we have KRK Rp8s and the low freq response is pretty good.
But we do have a Polk PSW we use for final mixdown testing
