Expecting people to just come to you, isn't realistic.. so how do you go about getting a bigger audience?
I've seen plenty of young guys with similar vibes out there who have loads..
Blogs/YouTube promo is the best bet imo.

Sending your tunes to everyone you know.. facebook helps.
Also if you are confident in your tunes you might try sending a demo to labels.

I have tried submitting a few tracks to youtube dubstep channels but without any luck. Never tried Blogs though, might give that a go.

Setup a Bandcamp page with a few freebies, hit up DJs/producers/radio show hosts who might like your stuff and send them some tracks. Hustle on Facebook without being overly spammy, work with other producers to expand your network a bit, go to nights that play the sort of music you produce, chat to DJs/producers/party goers there, hand out a few CDs with your tunes on etc etc.

Yeah, collabs with people who have fans will get you fans.

Not exactly the point I was trying to make
Working with another producer with bring you into contact with their own network of people. For example, a producer I met at a drum & bass night in Madrid has a friend who knew a producer who I spoke to on Facebook who was friends with a DJ who had a radio station who played some of my tunes.
It's a whole six degrees thing a lot of the time. Plus you get to party whilst you do it, always a good thing

So much easier if I lived in the UK.. us american SoCal kids and our rave scene..
I'd have agreed with you a few years ago, but honestly with social media and the Internet as it is, the only thing you're missing out on is going to nights on the regular and pushing your music face-to-face stylee.
Assuming you have at least some sort of night going on somewhere near you (and I'm saying this not knowing distances or anything about where you live etc) then if/when you do get yourself down to a night where your music could potentially be peddled, go in armed and ready. This means;
- 6-8 CDs of your own productions to give out to the resident DJs and/or promoters (often the same thing). Make sure your tracks are 100% fiyah and flawless/ready to be played out (so this will mean a rough mastering job etc) so that potentially, the DJ could take the CD and drop the track straight into his set without it sounding out of place in terms of levels/production value etc.
- 10-20 mix CDs, consisting of a few of your own productions and tracks of artists who produce a similar vibe. This will demonstrate not only that your can DJ if need be but that your tunes fit into an overall vibe. These CDs can be given out to the promoters, DJs if need be, and some to the people at the event to get your name out there and get a buzz going. Can't mix? Fucking learn. DJ mixing software, even the basic stuff, can be found for cheap or free these days, anyone can put together a rough 140 (or whatever BPM) set on a computer these days if it's just a way of showcasing their own material, no excuses. (not saying that's all there is to DJing at all, but you get the idea from a basics leve)
- All CDs irrespective of whether they are tunes or mixes come full labelled, both on the CD and the little bit of paper in the sleeve with your name, contact details (email/phone etc) and any & all relevant online links (so am guessing Bandcamp + Soundcloud in your case)
- Ideally you should vary the above every couple of months so you're not rocking up at the same promotion for a year or so hustling the same CDs, keep some variation.
Yeah, seems like a lot of work, and the hard part is finding the right parties to go to

Put on your own night then. Bar, soundsystem, few mates, tunes
And not like you'll have any competition

just a few labels that fit your sound:
Endless Plains
Black Hymn Records
Con Amore Recordings
Night Tracks
at the very least talk with Garethom he's a pretty frequent poster on DSF and he runs Night Tracks. knows a ton about the ambient/Lo Fi scene
now get out there

some great advice on there and i wish i never had to correct something wub says sorry dude but i think the whole giving out cd's thing is a bit outdated.. i mean i'm pretty sure no-one would listen to them. it's all done online nowadays
my personal opinion is more or less the thing about bandcamp.. there are tons of soundcloud sites that don't really do it for me i just feel that a nice bandcamp page makes it all seem a bit more "professional" if you will
also make some sort of plan how you "push" your tracks. i don't know where you live and it somewhat depends on is your market overcrowded ie are there million dudes doing the same thing you are.. in my country the scene is relatively small so its easier for someone new to work their way up by sending tracks to dj's radio stations etc (theres only one nation wide fm station in finland that broadcastes club / electronic music, great radio btw check it out
