Whether it's with his restless, innovative take on techno and house as A Made Up Sound or his equally forward-pushing experiments as 2562, Dave Huismans has been at the forefront of electronic music since over five years now, carving out a sound entirely his own. 2013 finds him at the top of his game.
After two slamming 12"es of his signature twisted techno funk for Clone and 50Weapons last year – contributing to their 'best labels of 2012' chartings at XLR8R, RA and FACT – Dave Huismans saved the biggest surprise for his own self-titled boutique label. Whether you love it, hate it or are merely bemused by it, the recent Ahead/Endgame 12” was universally admired for its sheer audacity and no doubt will be a contender for most spectacular single of 2013.
