Well it seems you have some talent, if u need inspiration. When your making your track think about what emotion you want it to emit, anger/aggression? Happiness/chilled out? when your finishing this track think about it, because at the moment it is really a blank sheet. Add pads, drums synths under the melody to give it more impact etc etc. I can't really tell you because im not the one making the track, and my view is completely different from yours, so it won't turn out as good. If you want my opinion on the track right now, it could do with a bit more in it. The intro is too long with no variation, meaning there is no tension when the drop begins and the bass has a lot less impact. I'd add more too the intro, like pad etc the silence is a good idea, just take out the snare as it kinda breaks the silence and shorten it a tad to fill out the space left b taking out the snare. Also, it's best having a sub bass that follows the high-end bass in some way as it gives it more impact. It doesn't have to have the same melody, it can wobble instead or vise-versa. Improve the drums also they sound ok, but there isn't enough there, not enough rhythm. Overall though, if anything, add some variation, make sure you find it interesting. If you think it's boring, we'll probably think it's twice as boring. To me it sounds like your production is decent, then again im listening on headphones cause I blew ma speakers

Just take your time, think about it, and it'll come to you, there's no need to rush and mess up a great track.

Sub bass is the low end of the bass, separate from the "high end" bass, if that makes sense. Listen to a few tracks on this forum and you'll understand what it is. It's called sub-bass because it's the bass that comes out off the subwoofer cause it's really low frequency. High-end bass is the part that you don't need a subwoofer to hear that well (though you can still hear sub-bass on a decent pair of headphones). Most dubstep tracks nowadays have the high end bass more prominent then the low end bass (sub bass), probably because it's easier to hear on cheap earphones. An example of a track that uses pure sub bass would be Pinch - Attack of the Killer Robot Spiders. It's all sub up until half way where it goes a tiny bit higher, but it's basically all sub. An example of a dubstep track with loads of high-end bass would be Skrillex - Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, which has sub bass playing underneath the high end, but the high end is significantly more prominent. High-end bass and Sub-bass is almost always separate, I don't think I've heard a track with the two blended together yet.

sub bass is the part of the bass that vibrates your chest when you hear it on a funktion 1
a strict definition would be anything below 100hz
it's a very important part of production, it has to be done right or else it will kill the rest of your track no matter how good your mixdown is for the top end.

Hey man,
cool stuff like one of the comments on the SC says gameboy style! maybe sample some Zelda or your favorite old skool game as your drop line?
Improving melodies comes with time but you have to try improve for that to happen. Are you familiar with music theory?
When i first started i never actually finished a single song till about a year in so don't panic

. As for continuing with this song though why not after the drop have an impact fade out to take away the energy from the drop then take your original gameboy lead melody place it there and just make the notes longer and more spaced out so it gives the listener time to calm down then build up again and drop. Just a suggestion but hope it helps!
Sorry if this doesn't make much sense i'm speed typing.
