Pretty much what I posted in the subject.. What exactly is it in a track that really makes you want to move? I've heard a million different things and I'm just curious what you guys think. Any tips on making music that really gets people dancing/moving?

I'm always jumping at the breakdown!
When the chorus comes back in I leave the hipster kids do some weird dance moves!
But I'll always jump at the breakdown, cause a breakdown is, yeah, jumpable

I'd say it's mainly down to the groove of a track. Even with a killer riff or melody, without a groove there's nothing to 'groove' to if you get me.

Either a groove, or very well timed distorted hardcore kickdrum.

the funkyness. (could be the groove or the synths) but for me what makes me REALLY wanna get down is that occasional vibrato saw chord at the end of the bar.
Unrelated to what I said, but since we're talking about moving
Also now that I think about it, you CANNOT beat a funky bassline with slides and slap hits

Syncopation, chest rattling subs, thumping kicks.

groove is a good shout. it' can prove to be hard to come up with a groove though, i've noticed i can rarely make beats that really make you stomp yo feet.. although i try and i try suppose it's still too quantized. but then again, there's ton of fucking immense techno tracks that make you wanna get up and dance and they're usually really quantized

Coloreds moving in next door.
Oh you said track, not neighbourhood...
Firefox spellcheck recognizes 'coloreds' as a word. How quaint yet incredibly racist. TheMoreYouKnow.jpg
It also recognizes 'spellchecker' but not 'spellcheck'. One time I typed out 'neurochemical' and its suggestion was 'negro-chemical'
I swear Firefox is on some Colonel Sanders plantation owner type shit.
