Saw this on StumbleUpon a few hours ago and thought it could be of some use to everyone here.

Then I saw this one which was pretty good too: http://puu.sh/49WhG/95c295a656.jpg

Obviously these apply to everything in life when trying to become successful, but I felt though it could also apply pretty well to music production.

Thoughts? :4:

Think about all the posts we've seen where folks basically say "yo, I've tried Reason, FL, Ableton, Massive, Kontakt, etc. but my beats are still pathetic... What DAW/plug should I try next to make me PRO-LEVEL, eh?" And then you ask them if they've read the Gain Staging thread or anything and they're like "meh, can't be bothered wif music theory and all that technical shit. I just want to make beats not Mozart."

:u:

I stopped replying to those threads years ago but they still pop up too often.

I like. Makes you stop and think about everything you have available to you and possibly think of new ways to use those tools.

Having all the plug ins in the world doesn't automatically make you a musician or a producer. Just sayin

This is the biggest problem with our generation of producers, a misconception we have cos we're so used to relying on so many resources for everything

Agreed! All you really need is a hand full of tools, and a lot of knowledge on what your doing and you can achieve your goals. Knowledge is power.
