I was using Nick Crowes 8505 with stupid settings (everything set to max), and when I stopped playing I head some voices comeing through my monitors. So I held my guitar up and the voices got louder. Once I got the guitar to a certain height, it was Obama!

Turns out I picked up NPR (news talk radio).

So I was fiddling around, and I think it was coming through my instrument cable. But I'm not 100% sure.

Anyone else ever have this happen? Or is obamacare trying to assimilate my brain?

Magnetic pickups are sensitive to RF, single coils, right?

That's why unbalanced cabling is always kept short in studio applications etc..

Kinda interesting that I've never had that problem before. I guess seattle is better at transmitting shit than San Francisco.

There's been a nasty lightning storm this week. Wonder if that has anything to do with it? I dunno, I've only been here 2week and this place is freaking me out.

that's all you needed than right. Fucking Obama talking out of your guitar they do say that areas with high electro magnetic fields create a sense of paranoia and discomfort. Gives you that whole somebody's watching you vibe. The thunder could create those high emf fields.

That would be cool as hell if it stopped at some point. If you can't play your guitar without hearing Russian radio that would be extremely irritating.

Oh ok cool then. I wish my guitar picked up creepy shit like that, I would totally sample it and make some crazy textures out of them.

No, I used to manage an internet radio station on Capitol Hill and the studio was right underneath those towers. NPR was notorious for getting picked up by the wire. We even built a Faraday cage because of it, balanced cables for everything that could take them etc.

Come to think of it, my bass amp in my apartment a mile away on Cap Hill would pick up NPR as well.
