Question with setting up APC40 for DJing

Post by zosomagik » Sun Sep 22, 2013 8:50 pm

Ok so this might be a little hard to explain...... I'm trying to setup my APC40 for DJing with a specific idea in mind. The idea is using a looper to loop on the fly (groundbreaking, i know...) Oh, im using Ableton by the way. So I have two audio tracks set up as deck A and deck B with the output to sends only, and the send A knob turned all the way up on both tracks and send A is where I have the looper. I have put an EQ after the looper in an FX rack, and I also have EQ's on deck A and deck B. So what I want to be able to do is use the 8 knobs on the top right of the APC to control the EQ's on the "decks" and on the looper. Specifically how I want to be able to do it is, when I hit the pan button under the knobs the top three control the low, mid, and hi gain on deck A and the bottom for deck B, and then when I hit the send A button, the top three will control low, mid, and hi for the looper. And that way I can use the rest of the knobs for FX on the looper and what not. Sooooooooo how I set it up was, while the pan button was lit up, I midi mapped the low mids and hi's for the decks from macro controls in FX racks on the decks. Then I midi mapped the send A button to select the rack I had the looper in, and midi mapped the top three knobs to control low mids and hi's on an EQ that I had after the looper. It was working for awhile, so I could press the pan button and manipulate the decks EQ and hit the send A button and do the same with the looper audio. So finally we arrive at the problem, out of nowhere the pan AND send A button are both lit up on my APC40, and no matter how many times I hit the send A button the top three knobs wont control the looper EQ just deck A's EQ. I tried remapping them but to no avail. Anybody know why this is? and how to fix it? I just want to be able to toggle between the two :u:

The only way I found round this was to use Max for live and download a patch that means you can assign the controls to any parameter
