Mac, no question. Longtime mac user.
For what you need it for mac is deffo the way to go. PCs are for hardcore gamers these days.
and you can run windows on the new macs (very well) if you so need.
So, in my eyes, yeah. No doubt.
incidentally, it's a great time to buy a mac. I'm in the market for one soon myself.

I'd get the Macbook because it will also do that weird old Windows thing (if you have to).

oi grand,
mac fan here too - the only negative I could come up with would be some software availability. Specifically on the VST side of things there are some way cool free plugins out there that are PC only.

Grand,
Software for mac is just as easy to find in this day and age as pc software. In london, at least, anyways.
If you have a discount I think it's really the more reliable buy.
In fact, even if you don't.
re: why this is a good time to buy a mac-- The new iMacs just came out, the rest of the line is coming out soon to support the release of the new OS. Anyways, basically you can buy the new models that are coming out or soon get the existing ones that are out at a slight discount.
AND THE NEW IMACS PWN

Id buy the PC mate - far more programs are supported - alot of the websites you go on look better on the PC seeing as the majority of the world use windows.
Pixel perfect screen - none of the shitty anti-alias bollocks. What ever you do, there is always a tutorial for it....on windows..
People say macs are the best and shit, dont get tied into that crap. Take it from someone who works with them [Pc + mac] on a daily basis...
