Waiting for too long for me to believe in this.

How does that thread not say squat? Valve filed a trademark for Half Life 3, 3 days ago.
Either they're working on it or they are filing the trademark now because they intend to work on it.
I highly doubt they are doing it simply to protect the name. also I saw that they renewed the trademark on the half life logo.

Edit: this fits in nicely with the 3 announcements steam made the other day, my guess is that hl3 will be steamos exclusive or something.

im not getting my hopes up either, but its pretty darn obvious that something is in the works.

This really doesn't have to mean anything, they could be renewing the trademark for tons of reasons. They also don't have to do anything with it until 2018 or something like that, at which point they can just renew it again without actually producing HL3. That being said though, I really do hope it does mean something.

Ah, this is obviously some new definition of the word confirmed that I was previously unaware of.

Half Life 3 has already been confirmed in numerous ways, but not "officially". This isn't official either, they just got the trademark.
They got the trademark for HL1 a year and a few months before the release of it and the trademark for HL2 a few months after the release of HL2 so basically what this means is "HL3 is coming, as you have known for years now, but don't think it'll be soon because valve time"

Honestly, the whole "confirmed" thing is getting pretty lame since Valve has said there was going to be an HL3 even before episode 2. People seem to have forgotten that.

And no it isn't going to be a SteamOS exclusive because Valve is not stupid.

DLC? what the fuck are u on about??? half life has never had dlc u speng, yes it had episode one, and two, they are not downloadable content, they are their own games..

we don't need an episode 3.. there has never been an episode 3 confirmed, so no the "last DLC" (which doesn't even exist except in your own head) is not coming out.

Ep3 was officially confirmed in 2006 for a 2007 release. They just, well, didn't release.

Like only 2 or 3 years ago they said they weren't going to do episodic releases anymore.

Think you need to take some deep breaths bro, do you talk to everyone in such a condescending manner? Does it really matter, because you obviously knew what I meant. Only a sad little person gets so worked up over something so minute.

When you get that angry on a forum it's a good time to go outside and get a life.

Clearly your mum got sloppy seconds and you were the result.

You mad???
FPS will never get old.
Unless you only play new FPS games in which case formulaic shooters are becoming common.

I've always much preferred multiplayer FPS cos I have never found single player in any game ever a challenge, and when there are challenges they tend to be artificial and heuristic in nature (i.e. forcing you into a room with lots of explosions and unavoidable crossfire on hard modes meaning it's more a case of trial and error than skill or tactical approach)

My favourite FPS game of all time was RTCW multiplayer. Quake 3 Arena/Live was also very fun for me. But I just cannot get into these 2-shots-from-my-m16--insta-kills-you-while-I-am-prone-and-relying-on-RNG-to-favour-insane-bullet-spray-while-i-rain-death-from-above-with-my-overpowered-and-unavoidable-aerial-assault type MP games. The last few generations of COD were terrible for me for this reason and I've never been able to get into battlefield. I like high intensity and high skill levels that clearly seperate player abilities and I haven't found a good MP FPS that can do this for years

The last single player FPS game I enjoyed was Borderlands 2 and only then because it is so different to conventional FPS games.

Honestly I kinda miss my World War 2 setting. Bring it back nao!!!
