Really like Twin Warriors & Grime Light (apart from the eski clicks, luckily they're subtle).. remind me of some old Ruff Sqwad instrumentals.
Other 2 are average.
Will buy though, rly rly like Twin Warriors!

that's interesting
personally grime light is the percy
then eski moment and twin warriors
then ice cube.
i rate all of them highly tho psyched for this.
oil gang are going in after this too with a novelist ep at the end of the year and a JT vs. Murlo ep at the start of next year.

twin warriors > grime light > ice cube >>>>>>>>> eski moment
I can see ice cube getting some decent reaction in the dance, but that isnt' a tune I'd listen to at home.
even though twin warrior's chord progression is a bit on the basic side of things (aka every 80ies pop song, aka minor scale I-VII-VI-VII, aka E-D-C-D), it works really really well with the flute.

Just wish this fad of gun shots and eski clicks was over. Its ruining some decent tunes, its well unnecessary now.

i agree the flute works v. well. it's a remix of part of the theme song from twin warriors (which jammer sampled for chinaman btw)
comes in 40 seconds in

when it's used as a way to hide a shit track i agree it fools no one but tbh when producers like breen and jt use it i barely notice it's there it blends well doesn't stick out as unnecessary tbh i dont really mind it. i love gunshots tho

Not directed at this release just my general feeling. I find it hard to get excited about the same sounds over powering tunes, couple times yeah but now its just got dull for me.
Twin Warriors, however, is probably in my top 5 grime instrumentals this year.

Na I like that, but you must see my point of how its just over powering and the song has no identity to the producer? Without soundcloud and the like if I heard that there is absolutely no way I could guess the producer, not because its something new and different, because it sounds very similar to what 10-15+ other guys have done/are doing. Its very similar to dungeon imo..
That said I still buy dungeon and I still buy tunes like this, its not that I dislike them I just can't get excited by the music alone.. I do however find them to be great DJ tools. Its why I can't listen to many tunes Yunx plays from start to finish, pretty boring.. but when hes mixing them, its great. Twin Warriors is something that I could listen to on repeat.

@Muncey, each to their own really. I just put out stuff I like and I'm really into the minimal stuff with gunshots flying all over the shop.
JT wrote this with Waifer though so he can add as many gunshots as he likes! He was writing Grime from the start and had a Korg Triton and Emu Proteus which have got all the classic Grime sounds on them.
Finally getting round to listen to the Boxed show, yeah that Garden of Eden is more my thing.. that is a meaaaaaaaaaan tune!
Bigups

Yeah its so good. I was stunned when he sent me that.
Its the last track on the JT The Goon LP out next year.
Oh and I've been having a mare with the pressing plant (as usual) so I'm still waiting for the final copies of Twin Warriors. The TP's sounded great but they are pissing around with the labels now.
They've had Sniper for ages as well and I haven't got TP's yet so who knows when that will be out. They'll all probably be ready in January when nobody is buying anything.
