Used to be paid, now free. A lot of fun to mess with, sounds range from "WTF" to "Oooh!" to "did you hear that?!"

Most HG Fortune synths look like this.
It doesn't have anything to do with the overall sound though.
As Alpha says, if you're too lazy to produce a pad then get this.
It has tons of features that create very out of this world style ambience.

Their synths sound pretty great! I think I'm going to grab that Shuniji synth while I'm at it.

ScapesWizard, Alio Noctis, and one of the drum ones (forget which) were also especially nice from what I recall. I rarely use VSTs these days as most of my DAW stuff happens in iOS, although this has made me reconsider that somewhat.
EDIT: Here's the drum synth - DrumBurst. I would actually recommend this to anyone who's never played w/ a drumsynth but eager to try one out.
