i do like some of the new functions (compared to the 800/1000) with rekord box etc, but that sync button... little downs.

The CDJ-900 NXS units will be released next month, and come in at prices of: $1,399 / €1,399 / £1,149.

Think I'd rather still spin on 1000s. I doubt the built quality has improved and there's really not that much more you can do with them from a beatmatching perspective, that a pair of well taken care of 1000s can't do.

i don't understand how pioneer keep adding up to that gimmick feature list and still haven't managed to build in simple hot cues or a basic reloop button.

What's a basic reloop button?
Agree re; the hot cues...seems weird the 1000s had them but they've been left off the 2000s/900s Nexus range.

What's a basic reloop button?
one that starts playing right from the cue point. as far as i remember you have to set a loop first and then reloop and exit.

strange they use ethernet cable rather than USB. wonder why that is.
CDJS's are stupidly complicated. It's taken them far too long to get USB memory stick option - that really should of been 1st priority right after they were made.
I'd love for Pioneer/someone to make a CDJ that has literally the standard deck functions and a USB stick slot. And charge £400 for it. One can wish.

i swear they are moving closer and closer to just being a controller, not that thats a bad thing. All they do is advertise every other way to use them rather than using CDs i wonder how long before they stop calling them CDJs

Don't see the point.
If I can cue up and speed up/slow down tracks with the pitch fader and jog wheel then I've got enough.
Everything else is pointless wanking about with someone elses music that's already been written to fit a structure. Doing billions of loops and shit is pointless.

I listen to loads of techno, but it's not where someone is pointlessly doing shit like these cdjs are demonstrating. I know that there's a lot of messing about with other peoples tracks like blending for insane amounts of time, using four turntables at once or jamming along with a 909 or whatever but that was still done by guys on vinyl just pushing djing to silly extreme. Not this "let's do very obvious sounding loops on a cdj that's instantly recognizable as being something that a cdj can do instead of just mixing the track in it's normal form interestingly". It's the fact this shit on cdjs sounds so bait and obvious and just ruins the flow of a track that's the problem. It's like when you have a shit digital flanger on a pioneer mixer. Who the fuck ever thinks "wow, this tune is nice but it really needs to sound like someone put a terrible sounding flanger on the master bus for 8 bars"?
