Seen some people ripping on deep house and I haven't listened to any in a few years so I just put on a mix and I don't see what the fuss is about?

Where is the creatively in dropping in a 4 x 4 some a 3/4 pad for 8 bars, like come on really? Where's the progression, where's the movement. You need abit than the basic shit.

Basic deep house, is like basic bitches. Good deep house has flowing melodies and lush sounds.

Edit - i think the mix was actually up there, my bad. Listen to the first few mins, and a few skips. It was awful. I call that basic rollers 'deep' house.

If you want to hear a new house masterpiece that will change your prosective, listen to an fairly unknown artist - addex - moments in timeless. The album is timeless, needless to say.

Well I used to Riff Raff at Leeds' West Indian Centre and the deep and chunky house room was big

once took a large dose of MDMA and went and chatted up all my old dears pals when i was there

much embarrassment

then i threw up on one when coming up who happened to be seeing the guy that was refitting our bathroom at the time

such shame

deep house is great

jus gotta find the right stuff

but the worst of it is still better than any dubstep coming out these days id rather go a hot creations night than some dungeon night

also dont get the hate for tech house, i guess its just ppl thinking its all eurotrash joris vorn type shit. BUT ITS NOT

I like the trashier deep house stuff quite a lot, like the really big Waze & Odyssey stuff and also a few Maya Jane Cole bits. Maybe that stuff isn't really deep house, but whatever. Deep house is better than brostep/EDM at any rate, even if about 70% is pretty flat and boring.

Like this one, you can't deny this tune at a party. When this comes on, you fuckin shake what ya mama gave ya.

the hate probably comes from the fact that some (but not all) of the haters are real old school farts and fans of real deep house and who think calling every garagey 4x4 track with a rubbery, elaborate bassline a deep house track is just wrong. i'm sure they're right! i mean i know it isn't actual deep house, but not too far tbh.

but it's really good music. i love me some gorgon city, dusky, clientele, hot creations dudes and even duke dumont lol.

another reason for the hate might be that the "deep house" sound has really taken over the mainstream in UK and places like Ibiza, even though edm is still mainstream pretty much everywhere else. I actually heard the MK remix for look right through was like #1 in the UK single chart or something? and it's the epitomy of "deep house" track. but i like it!

EDIT: i actually recorded a mix a while ago featuring some of the most known "deep house" tunes from like 2011 till today i could upload it if anyone was interested?

something special is one of the best vocals of all time imo
