12guage, Mantis, Sadhu, D-Jahsta, Dayn, Jphelpz Sounds
I'm trying to figure out how to make those heavy bass womps. I'm not talking about the machine gun basses, although that would be helpful as well since there is no info on the other 20 forums of machine gun basses. But back to the real subject. The heavy bass that picks you up and slams you on the ground. I've messed around with frequency splitting but I can't get it cleanly distorted enough. Any tips on the FX chain? Discuss.

Im sorry dude, but do you not see the other threads on this stuff? Dont make another thread, thats already here. Just bump it and post another question pertaining to these guys in that. A lot has been said and still no one really knows.... Go back to other threads; read and ask questions there. If you ask about another sound make sure you give an example something specifically youre trying to get at or even attempts youve tried.
Also on the machine gun thing, there is another thread on how to make this exactly. Its literally nothing much, just bounce out a bass and chop it up into 1/16 segments and duplicate them with different distortion or starting points. Plus there are some good tutorials on youtube.
Hopefully i didnt come off as a jerk off.

For machine gun basses, as suggested, chop up a nice bass you like and layer it with actual machine guns. When I make machine gun basses, I normally just layer a pretty simple massive patch with actual machine guns sounds, and then process them.
Here is a tune of mine. The machine guns sounds okayish, I think, and they were made pretty quick.

So yeah, all in all the machine gun basses are really simple to make.

Yeah exactly ^ but dang that remake is pretty much on point! You actually have a good sense on how you make youre machine gun bass, unlike a lot of people and videos showing how they are set up.DubMikey wrote:For machine gun basses, as suggested, chop up a nice bass you like and layer it with actual machine guns. That machine gun bass is the best I've heard so far. Can you go into detail a little bit on how you did that? Or like R3b said, project file? =D

You have to tell me how to make, like, 90% of those sounds....DubMikey wrote:For machine gun basses, as suggested, chop up a nice bass you like and layer it with actual machine guns. Respect, that remake is sick. How did you make the main wobbly sound?DubMikey wrote:For machine gun basses, as suggested, chop up a nice bass you like and layer it with actual machine guns. The 'wobble' basses are made of two very simple massive patches. Scrap-yard, Roughmath and Drive I think I used. The wavetables are not all that important. A lowpass with an LFO on it going through a bandreject. And modulation phaser on the second osc with an LFO on it.Flywheel wrote:You have to tell me how to make, like, 90% of those sounds....DubMikey wrote:For machine gun basses, as suggested, chop up a nice bass you like and layer it with actual machine guns. I put some ohmicide on, sausage fattener, a slight touch of reverb, and a short delay to achieve the metallic sound of it. Then I sent it through another mixer channel with the same distortion only tweaked slighty different.
The wobble basses a sounding a bit better now than they do in that clip. They sound a bit squashed/too muddy in that one imo.

I know that i should layer some machine guns on top of my basses, but could someone send me some, or where i could get them? All mine suck.

Sadhu actually uploaded a free sample pack to his FB with random foley and samples in it. It had 2 different samples of machine gun fire from some Call of Duty or Battlefield game. I actually used one of the machine gun samples in my rushed remix of Grim's Invasion.Vesok Audio wrote:I know that i should layer some machine guns on top of my basses, but could someone send me some, or where i could get them?
