Skrillex's Signature Lead

Post by Omal » Sun Dec 01, 2013 7:58 pm

Well, I'm sure a lot of us have wanted this for a long time. If you want to be a smart-ass and act like you already knew how to make this, then you should have been nice enough to share it before me. Anyways, here's the really common, really sick lead used in a lot of dubstep/brostep(whatever the fuck you want to call it -step) music now. It's used in a LOT of tracks including:
Breakn A Sweat - Skrillex
Make It Bun Dem - Skrillex
Can't Hold Us(Big Gigantic Remix)
And a lot of other tracks, I'm not going to list them alllll day. But, I've moved to DnB, mainly because I'm better with that than dubstep. But you guys are good with dubstep, so put this sound to good use.

If you want a preview of the sound you can hear it's accuracy in the clips below:

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that LRAD's lead and bassnectar's bass is easier to make

However thanks for the patch OP! Sounds good (though I don't see myself using this, it may benefit someone else on these forums! Still nice to have in my library to reference for the future)!

I never claimed Skrillex was the first to make it, nor did I claim that it was the most complicated patch ever created in the history of EDM. I only said Skrillex because he is the most popular artist to use this sound. There's another way to make this synth that makes it sound even more digital that I like using for my tunes. Try using a -24 saw wave processed through the phaser +24 in Massive.
And to blinkesko, I didn't realize this had already been posted, so sorry for the duplicate, I just figured not many people posted how to make this so I figured I'd share. (:
