Edit: Here's a track I started resulting from this Datsik bass isn discovery. I think I'm going to keep working on it.

So I'm in the process of creating and organizing some sounds in order to create a tune and after making two basses I thought, lets layer those up and spread them a touch and see how they sound. I did and BAM, all the sudden Datsik was in my room. I knew it sounded familiar and then I remembered "3 fist style", so I figured out the notes and used my bass and wallah. Sounds pretty damn close, right? Especially considering I wasn't even going for that sound I just randomly layered 2 nice basses and got that.

FYI: The first bass, the most gritty one is made with a sqr/saw and scrapyard and the second more tinny and high pitched is also a sqr/saw but using chrome as well. The basses aren't even processed or distorted, straight from massive with some reverb! Been following the shit in shit out rule. good patches first, then process to taste.

Sorry I have to correct you on this. It's Voilà, wallah is derived from the Arabian language and is used to emphasize a word or sentence.

If that even is what you meant lol!

He meant Voilà.

yeah, there is too much reverb. i literally just slapped one on i didn't adjust it at all. this was made spur of the moment, like i said theres no processing or anything just made real quick.

He wasn't. He made 2 distinct bass sounds and just happened to notice they sound like Datsik after he thought of layering them. You never toyed around with sounds?

yeah this is exactly it. i wasn't going for his sound at all i just tried layering them and noticed they sounded oddly similar to some datsik basses. i've added some distortion and they sound even more like datsik now, because as i said before those were straight out of massive.

anyways, i don't want this thread to be totally pointless, so if anyone wants some help to make these sounds i wouldn't mind sharing. i also wouldn't mind sharing some tips that i do in massive as my sort of "go to" areas to tweak.

I'm sort of late on the whole massive thing. but i bought Komplete 7 about a year ago for only $150 bucks. ever since then i've been stuck on massive. yes its overused and cliche, but its a good fucking synth and simple to use.

i said in the first post, 3 fist style. if you look i recreated the bass line of 3 fist style, but then i made my own song out of the bass i made.
