Another Drum Design Post

I thought I had grasped the basics of drum sound design but I heard this tune by C-Netik and Bratkilla 5 minutes and I loved those drums.

Both the kick and the snare sound amazing, I wonder how to get them to sound like this.
You probably won't think it's anything special but I was really blown away.

Soundcloud
Any tips/ideas on these type of drums?
Sorry if I'm not that specific :a: but It's hard when I don't know what it is that makes them sound like that.

I've never spent much time working on creating drums or analyzing how to make drums i've heard...so this might sound pretty vague or basic.

But what I hear sounds like a kick drum with a distortion on...kinda like old hardcore or hardstyle stuff..but the distortion is 'tightened' up a bit and the tail is shortened a bit ...and it sounds like it might be layered with a good heavy metal acoustic kick.

The snare sounds like its been pitched/transposed down a bit to make it thicker and more thud-like...rather than a sharp crack. but to add some brightness back in it's been layered with a quick burst of white noise that goes' pffffT' . (or maybe has a gated reverb on it) It also sounds like the release is pretty short so it doesnt ring out much....probably compressed hard...and maybe eq boosted in the right spot.
