The Best Of 'New Burial' comments from around the Internet

Post by wub » Wed Dec 11, 2013 1:05 pm

Wow. I'm speechless. These are SO BEAUTIFUL! Come Down To Us sounds like a prayer or something. So majestic. I can't wait any longer! :)
Oh my, what we have in store for us. 3 songs, 28 minutes of material on album. We get two minute samples of each song and after listening to what little was given...my god.
Oh wow, I got goosebumps when the vocals kicked in on RD, felt the sun clearing through the end of a storm on Hiders and felt new love at 1:09 on Come down to us. You don't listen to a burial release, you feel that shit. I can easily see movie execs scooping up RD for an action/thriller soundtrack. This could be my favorite release since Untrue.
Feel free to contribute some more.

I think with Burial Hedz, those two options are pretty interchangeable.

Those sort of comments sum up why burial has started to irritate me over the last few years. Its was at least understandable when his music was unique but judging by those new clips I dont think I'll even be buying this one. First tune aside from the naff vocal sounds like stuff people were making in the mid 90s

I've got so many people on my facebook raving one way or the other about this. Either that it's the greatest release ever, or Burial has betrayed them on a personal level with this shite.

None of them seem to be able to say the truth. It's alright. Not the best Burial release by far, but it's alright yeah. Seems to be the way with a lot of music today tbf, either shit or the best thing ever.

I really dig this new ep....but its not like its the greatest music to ever touch my ear hole or anything.I like just about every thing Burials put out but its not like hes Mozart or whatever...some people DO go a little overboard w/ their praise.

Mate, you can't criticise a man who named his tune "Ashtray Wasp", he is above it.

It's a bit cynical of hyperdub to disable the comments though. Always got the impression from Kode9 that he put out music on his label regardless of public opinion and profit margins.

When I heard Burial was dropping a new EP, I started saving my tears in a jar in anticipation.
