Hello gentlemen,

what is the best way to batch convert a large amount of samples from 32 to 24 bits? Anyway to introduce logic into the process, like if x then y?

My thanks to you. :U:

I've got Switch Sound File Converter, but... I don't think it can do logic, so I think some 16 bit files are going to go to 24 bits, and I think some mono are going to go to stereo...

I used to do batch conversions in Sound Forge and Wavelab. What audio editor do you use?

Also, I don't think I ever did large batches of bit conversions all at once. Do you really have a lot of samples at 32 bits?

My audio editor's Achilles's heal: works at 16 and 32 bit. WHY WHY WHY can't those fucks allow me to export at 24 bit? This has caused me ball ache upon ball ache. Fastest editor. Don't currently own either sf or wavelab.

I'm not going to mention my audio editor for personal reasons.

I'm pretty good to go with Switch, but fucking hell, it erases metadata as well... I've saved tempo information in a lot of these wavs...

Might have to do it anyway...

Can SF batch convert a directory structure and recreate that directory structure?

I'm not sure, I've never done it. Usually it is just input folder - output folder.

Yeah I've been keeping shit brewing. Was on a big production hiatus for a while and recently got back into producing again. Started investing in some gear that was holding me back earlier, trying to get a bit more serious instead of just producing for myself. Gonna hopefully get an EP done by summer or some shit, who knows.

More lateral dome hair and less digital robot sodomy. Also less ADHD, more long form development.
