Moyza

Originally from St. Albans (Northern outskirts of London), Moyza started originally DJ-ing Drum N Bass & Techno. He moved to Nottingham in late '90s, where he ran the infamous pirate radio station SCNE 107.3FM from years 1997 to 1999, the first pirate to bring the 'speed garage' sound to the Midlands. He continued to push the darker side of garage & 2-step on radio and in clubs – Supporting DJs, amongst others, Adam F and the legendary garage DJ EZ.

While all this was going on he was also doing the hard yards technically by studying sound engineering & production at college. Sadly around this time garage started to enter the charts and became overly cheesy. He got disillusioned with the garage scene, as he puts it “too many champagne poseurs and wannabe gangsters”.

In 2000 he decided to move back to St. Albans and take his sound back underground, producing bass-heavy, minimal 2 step from his bedroom – His Drum N Bass mates agreed it was a cool sound but didn’t know how or where it fitted in with other dance music genres.

Moyza let his production slowly slip after this and decided to go work in a studio in Watford (outer NW London). One day in mid 2005, a kid came to the studio to record a grime DJ mix. After listening to him mix, one tune caught his attention in particular. The tune turned out to be “Skream – Midnight Request Line”. Unknown to Moyza at the time, he learnt that this sound was called Dubstep. He started looking into the scene and found that there were people who were into the same sort of sound he had been trying to make a few years before – a combination of his favorite styles: reggae, garage, techno & Drum N Bass.

This took Moyza straight back to the studio where he started producing properly again. He found ‘dubstepforum.com’ in the Summer of 2006, where he networked with likeminded DJs & Producers. After playing his beats out in the clubs, on the radio as well as being supported by top worldwide producers & DJs like BunZero, Selector Dub U, Wadadda, Grommit, Forensics & Parson.

Moyza put an exclusive Digital Release entitled “Chemtrailz EP”.
Currently taking time out from DJ residencies at TMC (St. Albans, LDN), and Bass Monsters (Shoreditch, LDN) to visit Australia.

Moyza will be playing at Wobble dropping exclusive dubs from producers worldwide.
