Sidechain triggered EQ - and more Ableton

Hey guys,

So what I'm looking for is a sidechain triggered EQ .
( i know multiband compressor does this, but it would be way better if I could trigger an EQ instead, it would be just flow killing for me to use 3 multiband compressors (1 is limited to three bands in ableton) to duck the freqs instead of using 1 EQ and drawing in the bells)..
(I also know that I could draw an automation for this, but on the long run it would be way more efficient to have such a thing),

Question is how to do this?
And also the ultimate solution would be..

Telling the developers to add a possibilty (optional so it'd be only eating your resources when needed) to just simply sidechain trigger the effect racks, i dont even know why did they not implement it yet.

Anyone? :D

Bests

Btw I forgot to mention, but I done some research, but all I found is stuff about sidechain compression and a guy who made 29 bands in an effect rack and 'sidechain ducked' that way xD and I remember someone here mentioning he ducks with his EQ this way

multiband is really the least difficult way if you're just trying to sidechain one band. i agree that plugin is mad complicated and it kills my workflow and i don't like to use it, but the only other way that I know of is to split a chain into bands and then use a regular sidechain compressor on whichever band youre going for.

good luck

the issue with it its not that its too difficult, but that it's too simple and only capable of 3 bands (therefore you have to add more multibandcompressors for more bands...and also you get no spectrum so you have to add an analyser aswell) I'm not saying i wanna use 10 bands on each of my sounds, but would definetly experiment with such complex mixing ^^ and yea that freq spltting method is what I mentioned with that guy splitting sounds into 29 bands with an effect rack xD

so what if it only has three bands? you can adjust the width of each band, and you only really need to be able to compress one band in order to get your desired effect.

This might not be much help if you don't have the plugin but izotope's Trash 2 has a sidechain triggered EQ/filter, it is lovely.

FYI in ableton the compressor has an EQ, so it can be programmed to only sidechain compressor certain freqs.

Isnt that EQ is high/lowpassing the sidechain input?

yeah so you can get the sidechaining to effect only the low end, which is often the point of sidechain EQ'ing (people are trying to cut out the low end).
