I have their Tape 808 and Vinyl Drum Machine. Pretty much abuse these two packs and nothing else. If you want subtle texture and grit in drum samples, spend the money on the Vinyl Drum Machines pack.
But yes. Their freebies are great too and I have downloaded and used many of them : )

Fragments, Wub and brothulu, what types of music do you make?
Just want to see what these can be useful for, not in a spoonfeeding way.

I have rinsed the hell out of BOTH the free stuff as well as many of the paid sample sets.
It is true Goldbaby has a bit of a narrow parameter (vintage drum machines, run thru tape)... but for what they do, they are the BEST.
I recommend whole heartedly no matter what genre one does.......

Brothulu and wub, can you name any tracks where you used goldbaby samples? Would be interesting.
Both of your tunes are absolutely mental btw.

Most of my kicks have one of the tape 808 kicks layered and a lot of my subs are the tails of the longer kicks

I guess I do gritty bass music? I hate that term but my stuff wanders the gamut. Dark. Atmospheric. Dissonant. Usually not 4x4. My influences are like old school jungle mid 90s dnb trip hop ???
I've got a tune in the TUNA! thread with gold baby samples in it.

I highly doubt these live up to Gold Baby standards. Also, your recommendation *cough*spam*cough* would probably seem more sincere if you didn't spam a bunch of drum sample threads all at once...

I was skeptical at first but then I read this:
"The SoundRx is a trusted name in music. We are the first musical pharmaceutical company. The one stop shop for all music production needs. Including hardware, software, and accessories, The SoundRx delivers any music related remedy. As music producers ourselves, we continually felt let down with the sample packs and drum folders that can be found online. The same repackaged recycled sounds simply weren't inspiring us to write the music we were hearing in our heads. Spending all day auditioning drum and bass sounds simply wasn't the way we wanted to write music. We wanted something ready to go, that could spark the initial fire that takes when writing masterpieces. Not being able to find this product on the market, we decided to create it ourselves. The prescription for the music addicted generation."

Well. In that case I retract my comment!
