I have uploaded a track an hour ago. They charged me 18$ and in my account I can see the track is uploaded but I don't have a fucking clue where the track is being sold.
If not even me can find it, who the fuck is going to...

Dont take this the wrong way, but have you contacted them or looked at their help/FAQ section? Why are you asking us? We didnt take your 18 dollars ;p
It may take them a while to process things. Perhaps you didnt look into the process enough before uploading your tune there? I dunno. I dont think many people around here use CD Baby. Probably BandCamp.

Well, I was a bit upset but, as you say, it seems that it takes some time to process and send your track in their own shop and two weeks to send your tracks to itunes and other shops...
Anyway, I have never tried this way to sell my tunes and don't know if it works. Of course it depends on your music and the demand and competence. In this case it's a remix with more than 18k views in youtube so I think it's commercial enough.
Any experience with them?

Did you have permission from the original artist?

For uploading a track to their shop and distribute it to others too.
BTW, I just took a look to the BandCamp shop and I don't like the vague way they classify music genres. "electronic music"... "experimental".
So if I'd like to buy a jump up dnb track I have to listen to 2 million shits thad don't have anything to do with what I'm looking for?

I think when you open a Bandcamp shop you still need to promote it yourself.
Have you got a link to your tune on YouTube?

Haha, I think that would be an unecessary risk for me, sorry.

I'm not going to rip a copy from YouTube. Just want to have a listen.
What's your artist name on Bandcamp, or do you have a soundcloud account?

To tell the truth, the problem is... I don't own the rights or permission for the remix, it's a "white label", so I don't want to screw up the posibilities (if there are any) of making a bit of money out of the time it took me.
They don't ask many questions about property and all (they only ask you if you are the author of all the content). I see there's a lot of tracks with uncleared samples on CD Baby.
On the other hand, in youtube you are not allowed to monetize even your own music sometimes. Not that it matters too much cause they pay you shit.

But you're not the owner of all the content though, if its a bootleg?

Again, think YouTube would have the same issues with unlicensed bootlegs?
Do you have a Soundcloud page, or anywhere else we can hear your music online?

It is not instant. It is going to take a few days for the audio, artwork and metadata to get sent to the different stores. Then it is up the the store's own schedule when the track get put up.

You are afraid someone will rip the song of youtube, but its a uncleared bootleg that you want to make money off? Can you see whats wrong with this picture? You want to get paid for the time you put into it. what about the artist who made the original? I'm sure you added some wicked-cool whobs but.
