Critique My Mix ... Be As Harsh As Possible

Post by GV1 » Thu Feb 13, 2014 9:58 pm

I've not produced music for a while. Not since prison and battling Cancer. So, I want forum members to critique my mix and be as harsh as possible. I'm not looking for critique on the arrangement, or the creativity (or lack of). Just the mix.

Thanks bud, I've yet to listen to it on my monitors because my audio card is fooked. Done it in my Sennheiser HD 25's.

Mix is sounding very nice indeed! Only think i can think of to improve it very slightly is to remove some of the lower frequencies from the reggae-like synth...only a touch though. Other wise i think the kick and the sub sound very nice together. Liking the crisp hi hats and shakers and the snare could use a little bit of a volume increase maybe.

Banging tune though. Loving the air horn! Keep it up!

Thanks mate :D

I'm going to thicken up the synth a little, and make it a bit brighter. I've just added some parallel compression to the drums and they're sounding bloody sexy now! Can't wait to get it finished, get it mastered, and drop it into a few sets. Going to be interesting because I sort of went off on a tangent with this track.

Thanks for the input guys, it's valuable. If anyone else wants to chime in feel free. The more the merrier.
