Mysterious Hi hat sound

Post by Pablomax » Tue Feb 25, 2014 12:26 pm

Hi Everyone

I've been trying to learn how to reproduce properly the classic garage drum sounds for years. And I've arrived to something quite similiar through sample breaks, but is still a mystery to me how to get this so recognizable sound that this early garage production has:

I'm pretty Sure that it's something related with a concrete drum machine, and that probably is a simple thing, being that tonnes of producers have made it during whole 90s
.

So, If someone have any idea, or can tell me whatever to lead me it'll be really apreciated.

Thanks

Well I'm not talking about the "groove" of the hi hats. I'm talking about the "sound"...

thanks
