Hey, I thought I'll make a new thread about it cause I haven't seen anyone talk about this. I was loking through reggae sample on loop masters (i need skunks...) and i found a loop from his single with Lady Chan, Here To Stay. so what? go make some music instead of crying about zomboy using sample packs... its not like this will make him stop anyway

First of all, I'm not crying, ok? I just found it and thought It was a fun discovery. I didn't post the thread because I wanted him to stop using sample packs, I think he is a great producer even though he uses samples. And yeah, I'm making music, thanks why I'm here at DSF... Calm down...

With that said, I'm not a fan of his music or sampling personally, he's a bit of a lazy tit
But he gets by, he's already got more likes on facebook than Noisia ...

Hey Octoboy, I know where you're at. Way back when, when I first discovered the iterative vengeance samples, I came across quite a few things that I recognized in a LOT of the first electronic music I was exposed to, primarily trance. As a matter of fact, I remember one time I was going through samples and I had a friend in the room at the time, and he pointed one out too!...was pretty cool...

But given the fact that you ended your post with "...he is a sampler"...and in your second post, "...EVEN though he uses samples"...

This would lend one to think you've passed negative judgement on the fact that Zomboy uses samples. Given that you created a thread about it makes it a deal, even further emphasizing your lack of the search tool.

Realize that Zomboy, while not everyone's favorite around DSF, is a really good composer. He can compose very catchy riffs which include solid melodies and rhythm...If you put so much emphasis on sound design, you're going to stray away from letting the creative juices flow

I bet that if you and I used the exact same sample library, we'd create two completely different compositions....

I know zomboy is a good composer. What I don't like is the way he samples stuff. I don't really have a that big problem with it, but there is threads making list of artists using samples and I haven't seen this sample so i thought "why not make a thread about it?". I don't want to look like a hater, and I really like his work.

we all know you're not being a hater.....and if I were to choose to pursue this further, I'd ask, "What EXACTLY do you mean by the WAY he samples?".....for sampling is sampling. Are you expecting him to manipulate it further so as to....wait for it....Design a 'New' sound?....

You see, the collective referred to as 'WE' here on DSF just ask that you step outside such wasted brain capacity such as this thread. It's the greater potential within you that 'WE' wish to be exposed to from the true 'YOU'.

you dont get mad at guitarists for not inventing the guitar

if you can create a song to the quality and standard that zomboy does using vengeance samples, I will be impressed, manipulating samples into tracks isn't a crime, it sounds good, it works, people like it, blah blah bluh bler its all fuckin music so lets all just chill and listen and enjoy the sound

I'd guess that he built the song up around that initial sample. Sometimes you just need a bit of a push to get going ya know....
