I am just about to finish an EP I've been working on, and I'm wondering is it best to -
1. Send to promotion websites like youtube, bloggers, radio, DJs etc. Then send it to labels. OR
2. Just send it straight to labels with no previous promotion or momentum.
I'm not sure wether labels will want the songs to have been previously unheard or if they would rather the songs be already be quite popular…
Advice please guys!
Sending Music To Labels
Re: Sending Music To Labels
You are better off sending it the DJs to see their reaction from it, you will struggle to get something signed unless there is a indication for the demand.

yeah send it to DJs mainly first if you can get it played by a good dj on a good show the labels more likely to pick it up

Cheers guys, I think you're right in getting stuff out there before sending it to labels.
I guess they want to know for sure that your music is popular before you release I guess...
