Cheap audio interface?

Got a laptop so can't upgrade the soundcard (stupid idea but was kind of pressed in to buying something at the time).

Consequently, need an audio interface with asynchronous capability with USB connection to get the audio out to an amp at 24bit/96khz. It's for producing tracks as much as playing ready-made stuff, but since production is more intensive I'm prioritising that for the specs. Cost is an issue, like the lower the better.

Suggestions, reviews, experience? Anything up to $200/¥20,000/150 quid would be nice though I'm considering more if necessary (already bought the speakers, not letting them go to waste).

EDIT: changed for audio interface rather than DAC on recommendation of a friend (peaceFIRE in Tokyo), need midi I/O for keyboards etc as well as reamping

Schiit Modi's cheap if you don't mind only having RCAs which shouldn't be a problem going to an amp. Asynchronous over USB1, plug n play, no drivers, bus powered.

Schweet! Apparently it can sound a bit dry, but is otherwise looking a bargain

Check out gearslutz.com and some hifi sites. Everyone on gearslutz recommends interfaces. Shit just remembered I need to go back to buy the amp hope it haven't been sold.

I'm going with the Modi anyway
