I had an interesting mind trip the other day...

I told you guys that when I was a teenager
- I was strongly opinionated about lots of things...

like gun culture - vegetarianism - enviromental stuff
- personal freedom - the role of the government etc.

and as I aged everything sort of softened
because I began looking at things from multiple angles...

Well - I watch 2 of my little cousins after school on certain days
- because their mom works late...

The other day they wanted to get some nerf guns
to play with around the yard

so - we were sitting in the living room...
and the oldest boy aimed his gun at my face....

I was really shocked at the reaction I had...

I was seriously gonna punch him in his face if he didn't stop.
I became instantaneously - physically defensive...

That just reinforces what I always knew and believed about guns.

but they are normally supervised

It's really not surprizing that people with or around guns get shot.
That's what the things do.

I mean - you could use the thing as a door stop
- and still risk getting shot.


So then he starts shooting a sliding glass door
that probably would cost 1k-2k to replace...

so I made him stop....

and then he started on a hibiscus plant....
and after shredding a number of leaves...
I had to make him stop...


-but I'm the dickhead.

I seriously regretted buying the toy guns.

It was as if my old self had to re-learn...
what my younger self already knew - instictively.



I think I'm missing the whole fun aspect of shooting...
because I just know.

It's all fun and games until someone loses their temper
or decides to push the boundries.

If little boys don't love guns, how are the rich going to stay rich? If the rich aren't rich, maybe they don't let you live on their plantation? Should have told that kid, "Don't forget to double tap, honey!"

when i was a kid i didnt really like guns but my step brother and his cousin liked killing animals and id say stop but that doesnt work. i guess my step brother learnd to be nice to animal after a horse stepped on his head. hes normal, sorta hes done drugs an huffed gass so hes a little off.
