"Non-Musical" Music

call me pretentious or whatever but I honestly think this is music too, in its own way:

I guess what I wanted to ask was what people's general consensus of music really is nowadays. does sound have to have melody or rhythm to become music?

lol hoping this wont just be an argument between noise music fans and everyone else

If it is meant to be music then its music. Music is defined less by what it sounds like and more by its intended purpose. imo

You can make sound as music, and you can listen to sound as music.

'Music' is a pointless label. The only thing it seems to denote is intent but not content. The pleasure or anything else you derive from sound (or anything) should be your primary concern in your appreciation of it.

Regardless of whether the night sky is the result of natural causes or the creation of a god, it should be just as pretty to look at.
