Soundcloud
Very much inspired by Commodo - Rec Room and put together mostly while sitting in coffee shops (hence the name).
I'm pretty happy with it but welcome any comments.

Nice work man, I like it!
I like what u did with the hi-hats.
The thing I am not sure about is the synth/digitalpiano (the thing that starts at 0:29),
I think its a bit too loud in the overall mix.

Yeah that is quite loud isn't it. I put a boost on the master around 850hz to brighten everything up but forgot to turn that down to compensate. I'm going to redo the mix down when I have access to some monitors.

Listened again, I really like the jazzy space vibe there man.
Sounds like a Fender Rhodes is involved ^^

That's epic! Sounds really nice!! I always had a cheery side for good jazz.
I can think of so many instruments and sounds you could put on top of this already epic song to bring out more melodies.
Was wondering, from the 30 second mark until the drop, did you sample that bass or did you use a vst for it?
Cheers!!

you gotta put a little more variation on those hi hats its mad repetitive. At first it felt like a real drummer for the first 30 seconds but after that it was like you hit copy on all those hats!

Good point, didn't think about varying them that much. I'll do what when I have another go at it with monitors for a proper mixdown.

Haha first off I love the inspiration for the name, very cool.
I love the natural feel to the drums too, it feels very real which is refreshing.
Shit me those bass melodies with the EP are fucking lovely! Really unique too.
I sort of wanted the main drop to do something a little more if I'm completely honest, but its pretty cool.
It gets really interesting after 1:30 for me, it's my favourite part. Just wondering do you know any vocalists? it's crying out for them, even if it's just the odd oooh or ahh it'd really make this track unique. Reminds me a lot of Alicia by Mala, that's where I'm getting the vocal inspiration from.
Really clever and unique though man I like it, that second drop is killah too.

its ok
im not gonna bother with mixdown bs, cbf atm
1st half
needs more flavor in it, shuffle the drums a bit, add some more incidentals.
cuz at the moment (IMO) it gets a bit stale
2nd half
dope, the but use those toms more. if its sampled, then just get a changuito sample to add to it.
oh and get rid of the reese.
