Once again we welcome a living legend in our scene back to Röda Sten and Dubstep Bastards. If you do not know the name Pinch, you have been missing out. He is not only one of Dubstep's most prominent producers, but have also been responsible for putting out some of the scenes most appreciated tunes on his labels Tectonic and lately Cold Recordings. We are proud to welcome Pinch back to Bastards and we expect shaking nostrils and wobbly guts.

As support, we got not one, but two, very interesting and upcoming names in the scene. Wayfarer [UK], have been causing a stir for quite a while and his productions have gained support from a long list of very respected DJs including Youngsta, Mala, VIVEK, N-Type and J:Kenzo. Representing the new generation of Dubstep producers, Wayfarers beats are just as rolling with twisted percussion as they are deep and dark.

Hailing from Iceland but now residing in Stockholm, Eva808, is one of Sweden's freshest Dubstep exports. Producing weighty riddims with deep, thick bass lines with an old school touch, Eva808 has gained support of DJs such as Joe Nice and Distance, and have recently signed a number of releases, including the Childhood EP.

Pinch [UK] (Tectonic)

Pinch is known for many things bass related – whether it’s his productions/remixes, DJ sets, labels or events, he has excelled at all levels. His Subloaded night, operating since 2004, brought dubstep to Bristol – the scene’s first destination outside of London’s conceptual FWD>> at Plastic People. By 2008, Subloaded was pulling in over 1000 heads for each event and the Bristol dubstep scene was thriving, Pinch at the helm of it all.

His Tectonic imprint, established in 2005, has brought many great names to the forefront of underground dance music – and in the process, the label has garnered an international reputation for consistent quality. Carving a unique niche in forward-thinking electronic music, Tectonic showcased early releases from the likes of Loefah, Skream, 2562, Digital Mystikz, Distance, Flying Lotus, Joker, Addison Groove, and Peverelist. Many other well respected names have joined Pinch in contributing to the Tectonic catalogue over the years such as dub-legend Scientist and darkside jungle hero Photek. Tectonic holds a residency spot at London’s highly respected Fabric nightclub as well as regularly taking over stages at festivals or nightclubs across the globe. Recently Pinch launched a new imprint, Cold Recordings, as an outlet for darkside bass driven mutations of house and techno – a sonic that has been incorporated into his DJ sets over the last couple of years.

Pinch’s own productions have always been well received by the press over the years, having sprawled across the likes of Planet Mu, Soul Jazz, Punch Drunk, Deep Medi as well as the infallible flavour of the moment, Swamp 81. Similarly he has remixed a range of music styles for labels including Ninja Tune, Warp, Wichita, Wax, On-U Sound and 2 Kings – always to devastating effect.

Pinch is prolific in his collaborative work too, most notably working alongside Shackleton for late 2011′s ‘Pinch & Shackleton’ album, released on Honest Jons to much critical acclaim. Pinch also works with Distance under the guise ‘Deleted Scenes’ as well as having released collaborations with Loefah, Peverelist, Roska, Photek and most recently, alongside UK dub legend Adrian Sherwood (as ‘Sherwood & Pinch’) on a forthcoming album, already causing a stir behind the scenes.

Pinch’s DJ sets are highly regarded worldwide, bending genres and expectations with his always fresh cut selection of acetate dubplates and highly sought after vinyls. He’s been invited to record mixes for BBC R1, 1Xtra, Kiss FM, Resident Advisor, FACT, Red Bull and of course for the impeccable Fabriclive CD series in Jan 2012 (Farbiclive61). Pinch has travelled the globe and played in over 40 different countries over the last several years, repeatedly touring USA, Canada, Japan, China, Australasia, South East Asia, Russia and even playing in Nigeria, in addition to regularly spinning records all over the UK and Europe.

Wayfarer [UK] (Tribe 12)

There are few artists who can say they’ve been supported by the likes of Joe Nice, Bunzer0, Kryptic Minds, Biome, Kaiju, Killawatt, Perverse and N-Type with a single release under their belt.

That list is indicative – and justification – of the hype around Wayfarer, a young producer from Nottingham injecting a truly startling energy into the 140 sound. Taking the more roots sound and flipping its focus from bass to percussion, without losing either’s force, Wayfarer is a breath of much-needed fresh air in the genre.
Announcing himself with the truly astounding ‘Fall of the Zulu’ on Tribe12, with a selection of his trademark percussive monstrosities forthcoming on digital and 12″ on some of the best labels in dubstep, it’s safe to say Wayfarer has thrown the towel down and jumped in at the deep end.
