i read this the other day and thought it was a terrible article
almost xenophobic

I think it's criticising the whole in typical sarcastic Vice manner so comes across as written by a xenophobic nimby prick. I agree with some of the points I think it's trying to get across (unregulated financial fuck ups left to do what they want etc) but it's too fucking hard to work out what it's trying to achieve...

chinese are taking over our cities, i do a lot of work for them and make images / films of what places are gonna look like in 20 years to help them sell land and false dreams lol (its awful tbh but it pays ..)

i would like teh laws in asutralai to be strengthed to stop foreign investors getting tgeir hands on the cities and rural instrastructure
they have zero concern for social fabric and urban design tbh, 100% pure economics. chinese investors see asutraylian land and prioperty as some kind of bank and are buying it all up

Goes both ways. Money is power, power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Any entity with too much money and too much opportunity to use it is a baddd thing no matter where they're from. China's actually doing pretty sick protecting their own domestic interests compared to Western countries. The bottom line is: don't blame the foreigners, blame your politicians for letting it come to whatever shitty situation has occurred - then go and do something about it.
