plenty of beef today (hessle heads been making me cry for like 4 hours now) so something a bit different:
what's your favourite rolling stones album, and favourite tune (pick like top three they're sick an all)
probably top for me, always emotional, shouts to sympathy for the devil and jumping jack flash (especially based on the live version on get yer ya yas out, points to midnight ramble for that too)
best album: beggar's banquet, sheer swagger and every tune is ill

Only Rolling Stones tune I actually like (haven't really delved into much past the bangers that are always on) is "Paint It Black". That's a tune.

satanic majestys is great fun, especially that track, they were smoking far too much doob at the time, I give it high marks for the artwork but it feels to me like they were trying to do their own sgt pepper's and weren't q up to it
and paint it black, at the end of full metal jacket is just too much

dang!
12" disco version of miss u,
gimmie shelter,
can't always get what u want,
brown sugar (it's in 5/4),
4,000 light years from home,
pretty sad what happened @ Altamont, 1969
"every cop is a criminal, and every sinner is a saint"
Sympathy for the Devil definitely has my favorite Rolling Stones guitar solo
^^^ Godard's work is always cunning,
and supposedly the french pressing of this soundtrack is the most expensive record ever!
it's been a while since I've sat down with a Stones LP and just listened.
but I have quite a fondness for Let It Bleed, Keith is such a massive inspiration.
I really love how this album is mixed as well, there's a great attention to detail, soft subtleties
reminds me of playing acoustic guitar alone in the old basement I used to practice in.

the film with Altamont in it is fantastic, always weirdly enjoyed the version of under my thumb that is playing iirc at the moment when the guy actually gets stabbed... never heard the special disco edit of miss you, got the regular 7" tho, faraway eyes on the flip is some great fake country
sympathy for the devil live is too much, I love this version
mick taylor was a great guitarist, not totally stunning but so melodic in soloing

HA! YA-YAZ! Haven't thought about that for a long time.
Yeah, Find that 12" it's just absolutely incredible!
it just has such an amazing juxtaposition between Jagger's androgyny and this fascinating hook, "ohhhhhh, ohhh, ohhh, oh, oh, oh, oh..." sometimes just a sound, or a tone, a fluctuation.
just a suggestion really, a wink, a sly lift of the eye brow.
but it's a musical wink, it's telepathe.
+ Mick Taylor's solo is the one with the long sustain...
Under My Thumb is like the prototype to modern rap music really,
if u think about it.

I think my favourite is Beggars Banquet... Sympathy For The Devil, Street Fighting Man, Factory Girl. I got into the Stones late, but this was the album that sold me on them.
