Hey all,

I'm working on a track and I exported my first edit thinking all was normal... however, listening back I've got this horrible buzzing noise on it, specifically related to the bass on the track... Naturally, I exported it as a WAV and it's not on there so clearly there's something in the sonic content that's causing the mp3 compression to lose it's shit and put this horrible noise on, I'm just stumped as to how to remove it. I've then looked at a frequency analyser and it's showing the majority of the sonic content at around 20Hz so I guess if some of the lower content is being truncated during the compression then that would explain the buzzing, I'm just curious as to how can I stop this buzzing from occurring?

It's pretty clear I'm probably going to have to change something in the tone of the bass or remove some of the frequencies within it to make this work, but can anyone help me out figuring how to stop it doing this? Just want to say I've never had an issue like this before either...

Scratch this - I tried listening to another track of mine that I know sounds fine and it was getting the buzzing too, re-downloaded Winamp (because that's my go-to player) and the buzzing is coming from inside VLC. Really weird, always thought VLC was a good music player...

I love vlc but I get weird glitches occasionally, usually at the end of tracks it just likes to add a nice little digital beep

Yeah, for some reason every mp3 I listen to in it sounds like it's been downsampled to 128kbps or something... might be that their mp3 decoder is shit! Either way, I'd expect better... :S

Just to check are you running the latest version? they seem to update it every other day

Fresh downloaded like, 3 weeks ago and it tells me when there's updates afaik... Plus, I've just remembered this does this on my MacBook as well so it's not even OS-dependent :S
