Taking the challenge this week, Dark0. Based in Northwest London, Dark0 blends grime and hip-hop structures with soaring synth melodies, inspired by soundtracks, RPGs and generally getting waved – we’re basing that last bit on his Twitter account, which is one of the best around. Last year’s Bandcamp EP, I’m Not A Sweet Boy, was one of last year’s most enduring sleeper hits, and he followed it up last month with the Sin EP on Visionist’s Lost Codes label

i wasnt overly impressed with this tbh, BUT at least he made something. (also good to see someone using fruity haha)

Arrangement is good. Liking his method of triggering notes on the MIDI controller then recording them in, can see that being quicker than using record at times. And he manages to sneak in some automation which not a lot of them do.
Not a fan of some of the sounds, thought that pads sounded almost out of key early on. Also didn't get his comment about not having time to setup sidechaining, that takes all of two seconds. He also didn't seem to be using the F shortcuts to switch between mixer/arrangement?

oh yea i agree on the arrangement, but it was.. i dont know, lacking something special. maybe its because theres a 10 minite limit (and i watched the romboy one right before so my hopes here a little too high)

It was alright-ish. He did crumble under the time constraints. The beat itself was quiet basic. His drums were pretty weak imo. The gun reload and camera shutter samples were quiet generic.
