DuckDuckGo is not so bad. Check out Startpage as well.
Still their algorithms are not as good as guugle, but guugle has too much control. I think my Android phone is watching me.

any browser suggestions for mac? i used this chrome-based browser developed by a finnish computer mag when i was on my pc but there's no mac variant.. i want something without google lurkin

Tor is such a pain, it's almost funny.
I personally don't think they won't be 'watching' when you use a different search engine.
Definitely when you're using Chrome, but probably anyway.

They're fucking hard to get in Japan and you can't get decent internet on them. Contract personal info disclosure is also strict because all the yakuza are banned from business deals. Couple that with no laws against spying and PRISM, I hope the people in that control room appreciate my taste in porn.
