Big Power Hits. How do you do them?

I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about. On some tracks there's something I can only explain as a "power hit". It's where the synth/sample, kick and bass all hit at the same time to give some sort of big impact.
Here's a sample. Skip to 0:50 and wait for the drop.

I've tried it twice and this is as close as I get ...
1.

2.

I can't get that "impact" feel. When the kick hits I want that impact going on.
Any advice?

I think whats lacking from your is:
Drum Cymbal Hits- Crash Cymbal (add reverb and delay)
Also layer a down fading White Noise sample as well.
Add a deep sub on the first beat hit.

Cheers bud, will give that a try.

I think what you're referring to is how things sound full? Filling out or at least beefing up the frequency spectrum is a good way of making things sound "large" when they hit. Like rockonin said white noise can be a good way of doing this. Just a quick stab or even a reverse riser, which can be a sample or synthesized i.e white noise on the noise oscillator in massive with a LP filter cutoff automated to close in between the hits. Hope this helps.

Yes. In the example track on YouTube everything appears "in your face" when it hits.
I'll also give your tips a try. The "full frequency spectrum" sounds like it could work.
Thanks

Stereo imaging is also a good way. Making things wider via panning and what not.

Technically speaking what is this called? I've tried to google for "EDM impact hits" and stuff like that but I can't find anything.

Yeah they are called Impact hits. Also have a look at Reverb Kick samples.

All about finding a nice crash sample, I wouldn't try and over complicate it too much. Mainly commented to say sick tune

They're called hits, as well.
Just use a few impactful sounds, all the way up the spectrum.

I think I done it, at the end. The crashes, a big kick, and white noise, seems to work.

Make sure you add reverb and delay to the crashes so they have a tail that fades down.

Already said but fill the frequency spectrum, a good kick layered with a good cymbal will do the trick, its all about the sample selection really. Then layer it with the sub and whatever synth action you got going on the track and try to fill up the stereo field.
Parallel compression can help make it punchier.
