Must Die! - Octopus Growl/Reese

Hay Guys,
so I am listening to a lot of Must Die! lately and I really want to make something similar to the Octopus main sound (Growl/Reese) problem is... I cant even think about how to achieve a sound similar to his, I know that Must Die often use massive for his basses but how do you get something like this out of massive ?
(I am not really good with massive tough 
)
would be really nice if you guys could help me (or give me some tips) on how to achive these kind of sounds
bass kicks in at 0:45 (the main growl/reese thing)
