Except for the fact no one can tell how to successfully make anything close to what D-Jahsta makes.

I personally wonder how much of his sound can be blamed on his Kaossilator.

Both of them use operator and I know operator like the back of my hand and I cant get anything like that out of it. Ill try this weekend and make something and see how close I can get. I sort of have an idea.

Oh alright, didn't know you knew him like that. Do you think you can get me in contact with him? I'd like to talk to him on some mixing stuff in ableton. I was looking at his videos the other day and he has the same sort of workflow as me.

I basically wrote that thread haha  Processing its all the same, delays, reverb, flang, phaser, chorus, etc but the thing im trying to figure out is that movement. Like the one in that zippyshare. That hoohahah sound. I already saw your video on your D-jahsta but I dont know how to translate the same timing over to operator? Did you make that file ^ or did k100 sent the link to you?

Also love the videos, im trying to post some videos but more neuro and resampling stuff. Also a lot of drums aswell. I'll record a video tomorrow on layering and getting all the phase alined using warp markers. Same sort of trick can be used for different sounds. Then if i dont go over time, ill go over another trick for giving hats and perc a more human feel.

Listening to it again, I realize that this really isn't anything like the D-Jahsta bass; I thought it did at first though. I randomly made it in FM8 one day and I quite like it. Hopefully one day I'll understand what I did lolololol. All I remember was lots of WOW, Ohmicide and a LFO from Guitar Rigs ring mod. There was also some screwing about with pitch envelopes I think in FM8. The last two bits are automating the LFO speed and the last one is after a bath in Harmor.

Messy project file incoming: http://www19.zippyshare.com/v/60232221/file.html

Sorry for derailing I guess.

np also big tip i know for a fact d-jahsta uses abletons simple delay and trust me it makes the sound really robotic.
enable link and change sync to time and set it to like 20ms and make feedback around 50% and you will get a really robotic sound

I've messed with all the delay/phase/tonal settings in Effectrix, everything that comes stock with my DAW and can't get anything close. You guys make sound so easy.

How should one apply these settings you speak of?

How important is the base sound, and what should that sound be?

Off topic but I got the bass 90% now, secrete is basically one plugins and one fx to make it vocally. But speaking of k100, look who comment :corndance:

So does anyone actually and specifically know how D-Jahsta gets his main sound so...vowely?

I honestly can't think of many artists who have it down like him. It's pretty crisp shit.
