nah tbh I feel it everytime I hear it. it's just a really good production. I can't imagine pop music will ever get much better than this.
but then again, some say my imagination is pretty shit.

Purple Rain is a great fucking album. I Would Die 4 U is one of his classics.
I'm a huge prince fan overall though but lean more towards the Controversy and Dirty Mind at their funkiest moments type of sound as a preference.
1999 is great too with it being his bridge between the funky stuff, the pop stuff and the weird.
Not bothered too much about stuff after purple rain as far as full albums go but there are some of the best pop songs I've heard among them (Kiss, Sign O' The Times, Raspberry Beret for example).

See as an album it's great I just can't get over a couple of the earlier albums' tracks in terms of being funky enough to make me dance when I'm not drunk

Also I hope I don't get flack for saying Raspberry Beret is a banger when it's sort of cheesy as fuck

Yeah 1999 is solid as fuck the whole way.
Just some of my mates don't like Raspberry Beret (which isn't off as good of as an album)
