posters

...it's a form of art imho.
when i do nights i have someone doing the posters - drawing them by hand. then i screen print them.
i always get a good response and also imho it's like a mindset to a night. depending on how a poster looks like you aim at a group of people.

second step, also a form of art: putting them up. i do that as a part time job for the local squat. and it's fun. if i get fined by the cops, the squat pays it. meaning: full on!
part of the game is: be quicker than the cops.
it happened a few times that i see them tearing posters down on one end and me putting them up on the same place 1 minute later. so when they finish tearing them down they turn back to go to their car and the look on their face is priceless :h:

anyway. i see the job as a pretty creative one. doing figures and stuff on teh walls.
a friend once wrote with massive letters ''ACID'' on a wall with just posters. gonna try finding that picture.

some examples:

you should see the screen printed poster. it has little shiney particles mixed into the colour. it looks intense!

sometimes quantity is fun:

unfortunatly the best examples are on my stolen phone.

bigup to every promoter investing in good artwork!

Just got these 2 made the other day, 2 different artists (friends), same night.

I dig having multiple posters for the same gig, not sure why really.

Almost always give no indication of what I'm after either, full control to the artist.

This soooo much. A poster/flyer speaks volumes to the kind of night you can expect.

Gonna rant once more about that but where I live all posters/flyers are awful... All about flashy colours b2b workout/muscly guys full of testoterone and an orange skin tone b2b slutty girls with fake boobs :?

Oh I know, Diego's got skills no doubt. But that's the thing - from what I saw when I went to Sevilla the music scene seemed much healthier than in Valencia.
