Looks pretty good, will this be the new industry standard?
Will it sell in the current climate of digital releases?

This deck is in no way a suitable replacement for 1210s. Don't even go there!
Spec wise, this new deck is poor compared to the 1200 (0.1% wow & flutter vs 0.01%) and you know, in a similar vein to their CDJ/mixer business, they'll be charging £40 for a replacement knob which costs 0.002p to manufacture.
All about Vestax if you want a brand new turntable. A&H / Rane / Ecler / etc if you want a mixer. I don't know anything about CDJs but I bet Pioneer aren't the best at that either.
Don't buy Pioneer anything. This deck is probably the turntable equivalent of that cool-looking club speaker system they tried to hustle. It looked dope but was sporting some shitty speaker design techniques straight out the 80s.
Technics was a division of Panasonic. Panasonic know their shit and have invested a lot in R&D and made many good products. Pioneer are known for such great works as the LaserDisc and over-priced, poorly made low-end car audio systems.
The only good thing about this is that it might lower the 2nd hand price of 1200s a little bit.

Interesting stuff. Got a relatively new pair of 1210s I never want to let go anyhow
