why doesn't she just come with? taken plenty of non-dubsteppers to fwd, every single one has loved it and wanted to return weekly, even those who still don't particularly love the music.

Yeah I know. My girl loves a lot of the stuff when I play it. She's basically infatuated with Burial and likes a bit of Boxcutter. Plus she likes my tunes - of course!

She's just not one for nights out with loads of loud music full stop. But I reckon I can twist her arm.

I'm dere. Haven't been to FWD since the smoking ban. Girlfriend's sister is in town, all the way from Oz, and has never been to a dubstep night - she likes it, but has never experienced a DMZ or FWD. Kode9 is a good way to start!

Osk - my gf like's dubstep, but also cannot handle a whole night of it. Bah!

True. That's why she likes the fact that I a) produce and b) spend my nights with men in dark clubs.

Good news is, she's coming. Look out for a lanky bloke, me, and my first timer girlfriend - blonde and looking bemused by the percentage of sweaty blokes surrounding her.

See y'all down there.

Funky house does not seem FWD music in the sense of constant striving for the best and most exciting artisitc invention around.

Maybe Gee's reading of 'fwd' re: funky house is not that it is new or forward-thinking music, rather that FWD is moving forward by having some funky house on as it is a music listened to by some of FWD's core audience. Macus Nasty has been on funky for time - there is clearly some interplay between funky, garage and grime in social terms if not aesthetic ones. And didn't a lot of UKG heads like Sticky abandon ship for house when it all got too grimey for them.

I don't particularly even like it! Just seems like an interesting latest twist of our beloved rave continuum as Blackdown was saying.
