i like all of the ideas in serenity but the mixdown needs a lot of work. sidechaining could do a lot for you but in general it seems like it has a lot of conflicting frequencies so equing would be your best option. if played on a big system it would be alarmingly loud.
really, i think your musical knowledge shows, you just need to brush up on equing and mixdown stuff

Hi,
Nice progression on the track serenity, im liking the slower tempo and i rate the swing on your drums. Only criticism i have mix-wise is that the bass sound sounds way way too bright to me. That saw-tooth or whatever it is just needs a little trim on the high end IMO. But other than that sounding interesting!
As for schmorgisborg i like the drum programming and the bassline sounds decent, but the arrangment could do with some more variety. Maybe some more melodic parts? I dont know if its what you intended, but it just feels a bit repetitive to me. However, i like the vibe.
Keep it up.

IZotop Meter Tap
IZotop Ozone 5
IZotop 5 Dynamics
IZotop 5 Equalizer
IZotop 5 Exciter
IZotop 5 Imager
IZotop 5 Maximizer
IZotop 5 Reverb
I'd also work on Compression and Eqing and doing mix downs.
Cheers.
Perhaps but these days, there isn't much to mastering for electronic music...focusing on the mix is more worth the time. With a really good mix, you don't need much of anything for mastering.
OP, in serenity your first plucks sound really bad. I am not sure what is up with them but they are far opposite from crisp..they have some flabby blown out distortion going on. I think you pushed this track waaay too hard for the style. If a song is called Serenity, it shouldn't be bricked out like a metal track.

Amazing melodies. I like it maybe take some high end off the bass like everyone else is saying pretty much but other then that sounds clean to me... good work. Nice style.

Thanks for all the feedback

Hmm..the reason its a "brick" is because the sub pattern never stops..im boutta post up a new one..id just post my songs in new music thread but fuckers dont think puttin a tune out for free is a "release"...plus i like all yalls feedback

The ideas are great, but as others have said, the mixdown needs a lot of work, so many elements seem to be clashing. Try to work on the gain staging and sidechain com/eq some stuff.

I like in serenity how that click (starts at 1:16) kinda sounds the click of the kick then it trails off from the kick and then lands back on with it. Cool idea if thats what you were goin for
