It's not "free us". It's about standing up and taking the rights and freedom taken by the Government. Doing so in a way that if enough people are involved there is nothing they can do to stop it. Overthrowing the Government is a very real thing with enough people it's possible, but that's not the point of the video.Muncey wrote:Free us or we will overthrow the Government!

It'd be a more powerful message if any of it wasn't already common knowledge. No.. overthrowing the Government isn't a very real thing, thats a ridiculous claim. How can you paint a picture in one moment that these almighty people enslave and control the whole population then in the next claim they can be overthrown quite easily if theres enough people?

These type of things always miss out one key thing, our life is pretty fucking easy. Even marginalised/oppressed groups live pretty great lives. For that reason alone there won't be a revolution or an overthrowing of the Government, people know they're getting fucked in the arse but cba to do anything cause life is pretty good regardless. Its a fairytale fix to real problems.

Once you overthrow the government what do you replace it with? The video said something about a leader, but I don't see why a leader is necessary. Isn't hierarchy what got us to this point in the first place?GV1 wrote:It's not "free us". It's about standing up and taking the rights and freedom taken by the Government. Leader being someone entrusted to run the affairs of the country FOR the people. A democracy. We certainly don't have that right now.OGLemon wrote:Once you overthrow the government what do you replace it with? The video said something about a leader, but I don't see why a leader is necessary. Of course a Government can be overthrown. The people are in power, not the Government. But the illusion we live in today is one where people see the Government as the ones in power of the country.Muncey wrote:I'll bite..GV1 wrote:It's not "free us". Sounds like what we have right now. It's obvious that this trust is not enough to convince the current leaders to run the country for the people. Why would a new leader be any different? You should read Political Parties by Michels. Imo, direct democracy is the only option.GV1 wrote: Leader being someone entrusted to run the affairs of the country FOR the people.
Re: Operation UK Takeover .... must see
The people is such a bullshit term. "The people" are only in power if they collectively agree its a problem and feel passionately enough to do something and collectively agree overthrowing the Government is the right course of action.. and not just say 'we should revolt' on the internet but actually put it into practice.
Yes then it would be a real possibility.. but if you think the average Joe down the road is gunna be willing to attempt to overthrow the UK Government cause hes sick of getting up at 6am for work your view of reality is wildly inaccurate.
Again, fairytale solution to real problems. Its a solution compiled by people who watch too many youtube videos and think they're gunna fix society into some utopian paradise.
Gotta love laptop revolutionists.. selling Che posters on eBay must be a booming market since the 2008 crash.

Again, totally missing the point of the video. You're now on some different tangent.Muncey wrote:The people is such a bullshit term. Time will tell who were the wacko's in years to come. But, we're already at a point where the majority are waking up to what's going on. The problem is most people don't know what to do or how to do it. Doing it alone wouldn't work so they just sit back and accept.
We're not talking laptop revolutionists here. We're talking real life. Like protests, except with the aim to cause peaceful disruption. But in large numbers. There is nothing anyone can do facing 100,000+ people lying on the M6 into London. Increase the numbers and block all roads into London.
Shit like that. Peaceful disruption for a cause. Taking action.
the problem is getting enough people to see that it will work, and to actually take part. Then shit happens
It's like a DDOS attack. 1 computer won't do fuck all. 1,000,000 would collapse an online business completely. Power in numbers.
Obviously if you don't believe change is needed, then this is of no interest to you.
Re: Operation UK Takeover .... must see
As long as people can be coerced into acting in a self interested manner, they will continue to work in a self destructive manner.

People are already sick of the government massively if you pay attention to the citizen groups making stuff happen, like 38 Degrees. Of course, the media ignore them because they actually have the power to invoke change but they regularly get 100,000 and over for petitions and people campaigning on the street... the government actually invited representatives of them in to find out why people don't vote in elections but participate in politics through them

So you want everyone to have the same morals because they don't fit with yours? What's self destructive about wanting to make a change?nowaysj wrote:profound moral correction.
Please enlighten me ... what's your solution? Or do you believe that there is no problem?
How many times have the population said NO MORE IMMIGRANTS! Yet how many more do they keep allowing through. That's a perfect example of listen to the population </sarcasm>

Just in general, your response is troublesome. I think you are getting a lot of resistance with this idea and thread, but it is not really coming from me. I would just like you to consider what I said, nothing more.GV1 wrote:So you want everyone to have the same morals because they don't fit with yours?nowaysj wrote:profound moral correction.
At a certain base level people need morals of life preservation.
It is obvious that a change is needed. But changing the wrong thing will not correct the larger situation. I do think changing governments right now could be beneficial if it slowed the advancement of the total control state. But, in my estimation, any movement that legitimately threatened actual change would be used to accelerate the total control state. A kind of catch 22, the more you struggle, the tighter the grasp.GV1 wrote:What's self destructive about wanting to make a change?
Oh, there is a profound problem, an extinction level problem. My solution is what I stated, a profound moral correction - a realization that self interest is self detrimental.GV1 wrote:Please enlighten me ... what's your solution? Or do you believe that there is no problem?
