So quick question guys
I notice alot of producers are pitching their own recorded vocals a few semi tones to make it sound deep but not so deep where it sounds muddy. Thing is I wonder...do they sing a few semi tones higher than they've written for when recording and then pitch it down a few semi tones? Or is there a program that allows you to sing normally into your recordings but somehow down pitches your voice WHILE retaining the original melody of the voice?
Cheers

it's just random imo
as in if you pitch high / low enough it doesn't matter anymore what the key is
or then im completely wrong. just do what sounds good i guess

Depending on what you're using, there should be a key lock functionality available...I think Ableton has one of these?
